Introduction
Transformance Music specialises in iPad music-making in the classroom. We run workshops for a wide range of age groups and abilities, focused on music-making, composition, teamwork and improvisational skills.Transformance Music is unique for bringing creative and pioneering music-making techniques to its classes and performing workshops nationwide with teachers, young people, children and people with SEN. Our aim? We believe that everyone and anyone can benefit from the joy of music and we are here to facilitate, inspire and make it happen.
Transformance Music’s workshops are tailored to age group and ability, including special educational needs. We combine years of personal musicianship and teaching experience with the newest technological tools to deliver dynamic, engaging and inspiring workshops, designed to encourage children and young people to interact with the music composition process, develop confidence, strengthen performance skills and appreciate teamwork. Some of our most recent projects include workshops for deaf children, an afterschool club and one-on-one tuition for a young woman with limited mobility. In brief, we:
- Provide training to education professionals and organisations, both through traditional INSET sessions and through visiting schools and demonstrating best practice within classroom sessions.
- Run 'iPad Songwriting' after school clubs and intensive courses at schools and for other educational organisations.
- Work with, and develop software (apps) for, disabled people with the aim of improving access to music making.
- Provide free online video tutorials for teachers, offering step-by-step guides to developing musicianship through songwriting.

Meet Our Team (4)
Ben Sellers
Workshop Convenor
Ben Sellers is a multi-instrumentalist, Community Musician and classroom teacher based in London. His practice focuses on songwriting/composition and improvisation, often using technology, and often in SEN/D settings. Like his workshop leader heroes, he sees the music workshop as a space for personal and social transformation. In addition to his role as an Associate Musician with Drake Music, recent partners have included the BBC Symphony Orchestra, The Museum of London and WOMAD Festival. You can hear some of his compositions with Colin Samurai here and Gypsy Fever here
Marianna Riddle
Administrator
Marianna Riddle has worked in several small London-based charitable organisations, as an administrator and community activities coordinator. She also dabbles in carpentry, teaching, gardening and of course, music!
Peter Keserue
Workshop Facilitator
Peter Keserue is an experienced multi-instrumentalist, specialising in working with at-risk cohorts of pupils in primary and secondary schools across London. Of Italian-Hungarian descent, he has led an avant-garde free improvisation project for almost a decade and has been singing with an overtone choir in the UK for the past 4 years. He also hosts free improvisational music nights. He specialises in empowering people to experiment and enjoy playing musical instruments at any level. He believes free improvisation challenges listening, while encouraging interaction and awareness of others in a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment.
Travis Synder
USA Workshop Convenor
Travis Snyder is a musician and educator, specializing in SEN and software/hardware development aimed at accommodating students with severe physical disabilities. He began teaching guitar to his friends at age 15, eventually developing his hobby into a full-time business. Since his bedroom days of “guitaring†he has branched further out into the family of string instruments, primarily with the harp, viola, violin, and pedal steel. He has been involved with programs such as El Sistema Saint Louis: Orchestrating Diversity, the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, and iPad music workshops throughout the United States and England. At the present he is working long distance with composer Mark Sarich as the librettist for the forthcoming opera “George and Christine†and teaching privately as well as in the classroom. Keep a lookout for his latest app, which will be available for free download on Transformance Music's website sooner rather than later…
